OUR COMPANY

Camalig Bank Inc. (A Rural Bank), formerly known as The Rural Bank of Camalig (Albay), Inc. started its operations on June 6, 1969. The setting up of the bank was in response to the Central Bank's call to provide credit and financial services to the countryside.

Camalig Bank has initially offered credit facilities to the agricultural sector. In later years, services were extended to salary, developmental, small and medium enterprises, real estate, microfinance, and DepED APDS loans (Department of Education Automatic Payroll Deduction Scheme). The changing need of the communities we serve has led to the expansion to several other products including financing for gadgets, vehicles, and heavy equipment. These loan types are introduced to meet business and personal needs of Bicolanos in the hopes of spurring the local economic activities.

Camalig Bank prides itself on a healthy deposit portfolio deeply rooted in the trust afforded to us by our clients. We have a wide selection of deposit products tailored to help our clients start with their financial journey and achieve maximum growth potential for their savings.

Fast forward to fifty years since our humble beginnings, Camalig Bank has gone to great lengths of transforming from a single branch to now a solid institution with region-wide presence through our 16 branches and 5 branch lite offices.

We are a financial institution committed to supporting our clients’ well-being. We share your aspirations of receiving financial assistance through competitive rates and competent service. We ensure the practice of good corporate governance and prudent decision making in all transactions, at all times.

OUR CORPORATE LOGO

The blue triangle represents the Mayon Volcano. The Mayon Volcano has always been part of Albay province's landscape. Albay is where Camalig Bank established itself and will always root itself. Mayon is described as majestic, alluring, strong and omnipresent. Mayon will always be in the backdrop of our Camalig. Mayon complements Camalig in showing a trusting and dependable relationship. Blue is identified with infinite possiblities.

The green triangle represents the Camalig. A Camalig in earlier times was a storehouse for farm produce. It signified ample food supply most especially in time of hunger and crisis. Green is identified with food or basic needs, and of course, with money.

The Rainbow is abbreviated into two colors: yellow, representing gold or wealth; and orange, representing a bright future.

The direction of the rainbow is upward signifying a progressive future. This is the general direction Camalig Bank intends to pursue.

Camalig Bank opens its 22nd Office in Polangui

Camalig Bank inaugurated its 22nd Office located at #316 Alpapara and Liria Building, Purok Mars, Centro Occidental, Polangui, Albay.

This newest office has been long planned. Its opening was hampered by the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic as mentioned by Jose Misael B. Moraleda, President/CEO, during the opening program on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

This branch will cater to the growing client base in the towns of the third district of Albay: Oas, Polangui, and Libon. Existing accounts from the Camalig Office were transferred and will now be served by the Polangui team led by Ms. Majel Joy B. Oriarte, Branch Manager.

As presented by Mr. Moraleda during the program, Camalig Bank’s financial performance last 2021 affirms that it continues to be the leading rural bank in the Bicol region. Furthermore, he showed a teaser of the upcoming Bank’s mobile app which is scheduled to be launched this year.

OUR ADVOCACY

History

The Camalig Bank Foundation, Inc. (CBF) was established in September 1, 2009. The initiative to set up a foundation was brought about by the bank’s desire to share its resources for philanthropic endeavors.

Vision, Mission Statement, and Goals

The CBF envisions a better socio-economic condition of the Bicol Region particularly in those communities that are most susceptible to natural disasters. The CBF’s advocacy is focused on three major areas: financial literacy, disaster preparedness and risk management, and quality education for underprivileged yet deserving students.

The following are the objectives of the CBF:
1. To initiate programs that promotes the welfare and development of the Camalig Bank employees and clientele through financial literacy;
2. To be proactive in the creation of programs promoting disaster preparedness and risk management targeting the susceptible communities during natural disasters through relevant partnership with government and non-government agencies; and,
3. To identify and support deserving indigent students to get quality education in reputable learning institutions.

Thrusts

FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAM
Engaging the community or the stakeholders to programs geared toward promoting financial awareness and applying this skill to achieve a better quality of life and accomplish important goals.

Currently, the Foundation’s Financial Literacy (FinLIt) program beneficiaries include:

1. Impoverished families and communities qualified under the government’s cash grant program. The delivery of this program is made possible by the partnership between CBF and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). It started in June 2013 with Catanduanes and Camarines Sur as the pilot provinces and later expanded to Albay.
2. Select agricultural and youth sectors in the Sorsogon province which started in the year 2015.
3. Micro-entrepreneur clients of Camalig Bank in Albay. This program is aimed at teaching the business owners about personal finance, recordkeeping and bookkeeping.

Thrusts

DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AND RISK MANAGEMENT
Conducting informational drives through trainings and seminars focused on promoting awareness, prevention, and preparedness during natural calamities and crisis situations.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Carrying out projects in furthering access and support for quality education. The scope of the scholarship grants in this program includes payment for the tuition of deserving students, subsidy or reimbursement of qualified school expenses, and employment program with Camalig Bank.

It started in 1983 with Bicol University and has since grew to four other partner educational institutions including Catanduanes State University, Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, and Don Bosco Agro-Mechanical Technology Center.

The Logo of Camalig Bank Foundation

The logo is shaped like "CB," the first letters of Camalig Bank. Sharing the same colors with the CB logo:
BLUE is identified with infinite possibilities; GREEN is identified with basic food or basic needs, and of course with money; YELLOW, representing wealth; and ORANGE, representing a bright future.

It also shows a top view picture of a person helping someone.
